Dear Friends,

Do you ever feel like you have so many things to do that it’s hard to focus and concentrate?

That’s most days for me! Today, I want to share with you my favorite nutrient for improving focus, concentration, and alertness: GABA, or Gamma Amino-Butyric Acid.
GABA is a key neurotransmitter in our bodies and is often called the "calming transmitter" because it inhibits the transmission of nervous feelings during stressful situations. It helps restore order so your brain can relax, allowing you to focus and concentrate better.

While our bodies can produce GABA naturally from the amino acid L-glutamine, you can also get it from fermented foods like kimchi.

What’s nice about taking GABA as a supplement is that you can feel the difference quickly – in about 30 to 60 minutes.

However, I don’t recommend just any GABA – be sure to look for PharmaGABA from Japan, which is naturally fermented (most other GABA in supplements is synthetic).

PharmaGABA is produced using a natural fermentation process with Lactobacillus bacteria, similar to how kimchi gets its high GABA content.

Studies have shown that PharmaGABA is superior to synthetic GABA in helping the brain relax, as demonstrated by increased alpha brain waves and reduced stress markers.

One fascinating study involved people with a fear of heights walking across a narrow 1,000-foot suspension bridge (160 ft above the canyon below), one of the longest in the world. With no railings, this bridge could make anyone a bit anxious and nervous.

When the researchers measured stress levels (using the CgA stress marker), those who took PharmaGABA exhibited much lower stress, on average, compared to those who took a placebo, while crossing the bridge.

This is a small but interesting example illustrating how PharmaGABA may help the brain relax in stressful situations.

The makers of PharmaGABA have conducted numerous other research studies to illustrate how PharmaGABA may help improve mental focus and the ability to concentrate.

For improved focus, alertness, and concentration, I recommend taking 100 mg of PharmaGABA about 30-60 minutes before you need it.

More recent research has found that PharmaGABA may also provide longer-term cognitive health benefits over several months, including helping with several aspects of memory. If this is of interest, consider taking 200 mg daily - perhaps 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the evening, as it may also help improve sleep quality.

You'll find 100 mg of PharmaGABA in every serving of our TrueRecall product. I personally take it in the morning when I get to work or before important meetings.

TrueRecall also contains other beneficial ingredients like Sensoril ashwagandha for stress and cortisol support, Synapsa bacopa for memory support, and active forms of folate, B12, and B6 to support brain function and maintain healthy homocysteine levels.

You can find out more about TrueRecall here. Give it a try!
