Dear Friends,

Consistently getting a good night’s sleep is a cornerstone of wellness and vibrant living. The calming and balancing properties of the ashwagandha plant can help sleep quality, however the quality and effectiveness of ashwagandha extracts varies.

We believe that the ashwagandha extract with the best scientific study for sleep is the high potency Shoden Ashwagandha ingredient.

The study, published in the highly respected Sleep Medicine journal, included 150 healthy adults between 18 and 65 years old. Half of the participants took 120mg of Shoden daily in the evening for 6 weeks, while the other half received a placebo.

The 6-week study period is important because the sleep benefits of ashwagandha typically aren’t immediate. You can start experiencing benefits after a few weeks, and further improvements are often experienced over ensuing weeks with continued use.

Here’s some of the notable findings from this study, including the increase in important restorative sleep:

Increased Sleep Time

At the end of 6 weeks those taking Shoden improved their total sleep time at night by 36 minutes, on average, compared to those taking the placebo.

What makes this result even more impressive in our mind is the adults in this study were healthy, and not struggling with insomnia or any other sleep disorder.

Fall Asleep Faster, Less Awake Time

Even more interesting, those taking Shoden Ashwagandha spent 19 minutes less in bed, on average, than the placebo group.

So if you’re sleeping 36 minutes longer while spending 19 minutes less in bed, that means you’re spending less time not sleeping at night while in bed.

Indeed, with the help of Shoden, subjects were able to fall asleep faster and spent less time in bed awake.

Improved Sleep Quality

One of the ways researchers measure sleep quality is to track the “wake time after sleep onset” or WASO. This statistic measures the time spent awake during the night after you’ve fallen asleep.

So let’s say you wake up twice during the night and it takes you a total of 20 minutes to fall asleep again, your WASO for that night is 20 minutes.

By the end of the study, the average WASO score was reduced by 14 minutes in those taking Shoden compared to the placebo group, another impressive finding.

To further evaluate sleep quality, the researchers deduct the WASO score (time awake at night) from the total amount of time asleep.

Here too Shoden Ashwagandha shined in this study, with quality of sleep improving by 39 minutes compared to the placebo group, using this calculation.

Increased Restorative Sleep

One of the reasons this study stands out is because it looked at Shoden’s ability to improve restorative sleep. In case you don’t know, many sleep experts consider restorative sleep to be the most important phase of sleep.

Restorative sleep occurs primarily during deep sleep, a critical stage when your body does much of its important repair and recovery work such as:

• Eliminating toxins built up during the day.

• Fighting oxidative stress that can lead to cellular damage.

• Repairing muscles and tissues to prepare you for the day ahead.

When you get more restorative sleep, you’re more likely to wake up feeling refreshed, energized, and mentally sharp, and ready to tackle what the day brings.

In this study, taking 120mg of Shoden for 6 weeks led to a 42% greater improvement in restorative sleep compared to the placebo group.

To measure restorative sleep, the researchers collect data in a series of areas including energy levels, mood, feeling rested and refreshed and mental alertness. In all of these categories, users of Shoden experienced very significant gains.

The combination of all these sleep benefit findings - sleeping longer, falling asleep faster, spending less time awake at night, and the 42% increase in restorative sleep over the placebo group – is why we believe that Shoden Ashwagandha stands out for sleep support.

Even better, the high potency Shoden extract has been shown to work with just a 120mg daily serving, compared to as much as 600mg or 700mg for other ashwagandha options.

TrueZs – Sleep and Stress Support

NatureCity includes Shoden Ashwagandha in its TrueZs sleep and stress support supplement.  Each TrueZs capsule includes 120mg of Shoden, along with Suntheanine, a pure form of L-theanine, and a premium saffron extract called Affron.

We believe these nutrients help complement the effects of Shoden. The L-theanine helps calm your mind and promote relaxation, and the saffron supports your body’s natural production of melatonin, the sleep hormone.

Give TrueZs a chance to work, and soon you’ll be getting a better night’s sleep and waking up feeling more refreshed and energized.  This will help many aspects of your overall health and emotional well-being.

Yours for Good Health,
