The TruePS Difference
Many phospholipids and oils are vulnerable to degradation in the bottle before you take a supplement. This is a concern with fish oil and CoQ10 (ubiquinol) supplements.
This is an even greater challenge with Phosphatidylserine or “PS” for short – as it’s relatively unstable and very prone to degradation over time. As you might expect, when PS degrades, it is of little value to your brain health.
One of the leading soft gel manufacturers, Soft Gel Technologies®, had several PS products tested and found that within 4 or 5 months of manufacturing, the potency of the PS had already declined significantly.
To overcome this challenge, Soft Gel Technologies® developed a method to stabilize the Sharp PS® Green phosphatidylserine using an exclusive fluid dispersion method.
Shelf-life studies on this stabilized Sharp PS® (performed by an independent 3rd party laboratory) found that even after 24 months there was absolutely no degradation of the phosphatidylserine.
We use this stabilization method so you can use every bottle of TruePS with confidence, knowing that the PS is active and able to provide desired benefits.
PS is one of the body’s essential building blocks. It is found in every cell membrane and is particularly abundant in the brain.
PS plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the brain. It’s estimated that on average, diets give us only about half of the PS that we used to get, mainly because of the focus on low-fat food intake. This is why taking a PS supplement is a good idea – for both young and older adults – and the premier source of PS for supplements is called Sharp PS®.
The Sharp PS® in TruePS is their soy-free ingredient (called Sharp PS® Green) and is made from sunflower lecithin. Sharp-PS is supported by 50 human studies and is the most researched PS ingredient for supplements.
Benefits with PS aren’t seen immediately, the effects on brain health and memory build up over several months. Nutrients that act as “cognitive boosters” to help you focus or concentrate can work quickly, but their effects usually only last a short time. It takes longer to experience cognitive benefits with PS, but they tend to be longer lasting.
PS has two key functions in the brain. One, it helps form the physical structure of the brain, and two it plays a key role in cell-to-cell communication between cells. It effectively acts as a messenger delivering information across synapses (gaps) between brain cells.
This makes PS important for supporting processes like memory, learning and attention. It also can help decrease the loss of brain cells and helps keep cortisol (the “stress hormone”) in check supporting better and more balanced moods.
Perhaps the most important potential benefit of supplementing with PS is how it can help slow age-related mental decline with continuous use. This promotes better cognitive function and memory as we get up in years.
Even before then, PS can help keep our brains sharp and alive and improve quality of life in day-to-day tasks, making it a very valuable supplement.

Phosphatidylserine or “PS” for short, is one of the body’s essential building blocks. It is found in every cell membrane and is particularly abundant in the brain. You can find up to 6x more PS in the brain than in any other tissue in the body.

Each TruePS soft gel contains 100mg of phosphatidylserine from 556mg of the soy-free Sharp PS® Green oil. The other components of the oil include phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine and sunflower lecithin.
Typically, our diets give us around 100mg of phosphatidylserine each day. This is about half the amount humans used to get from diet – mostly a consequence of focusing eating on lower-fat foods. As a result, the standard dose to make up for that shortfall is 100mg daily from a supplement, which is what one TruePS soft gel provides.
Some users want to accelerate potential benefits, and take 300mg (3 TruePS soft gels) daily for the first 4 weeks, and then take the regular 1 soft gel daily thereafter for maintenance purposes. As always, we recommend consulting with the healthcare practitioner who knows you best.
You can’t unless you have the product tested. This is why we strongly suggest taking a stabilized PS supplement like TruePS. You’ll no longer have to guess whether the PS has degraded because of the stabilization technique that protects the PS.
